We head out this afternoon. We're leaving on the solstice, the first day of summer, and arriving in Winter, two days later, in a place where the toilets flow in a different direction.
Luckily, our flight is fairly direct St. Louis-LAX-Auckland-Blenheim with the longest leg a mere 12 hours and 40 minutes.
